Biography

State Senator Heidi Campbell represents Tennessee’s 20th District. She has served as Chair of the Davidson County Legislative Delegation, as a member of the Transportation and Fiscal Review Committees, and of the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. Heidi is a State Lead for the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators. She has sponsored/co-sponsored over 200 pieces of legislation since being elected in 2020, and passed more than 80 bills.

 

She is a mom, a former music industry executive, and was the first female Mayor of Oak Hill. She has served on the Greater Nashville Regional Council, the Mayors Caucus, the Transit Alliance, the South Corridor Task Force, and the Solid Waste Board. She established and Chaired the Board of Children First Montessori, and also established the Franklin Pike Multimodal Task Force. 

 

Her first elected position was in St. Paul, MN where she served on the District Council during the planning process for the light rail project connecting the twin cities to the airport. Growing up in Nashville, Heidi attended St. Bernard Academy, University School of Nashville, and Hume-Fogg High School. She is a graduate of Outward Bound and volunteered with Save the Children in Tunisia, Africa. She received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
